Frank Clota was an orchardist and ran a lemon orchard in Heathmont.
Frank was a Foundation Member of Heathmont Cricket Club in 1922 and was the first captain of the club. He was primarily a top order batsman and won the Association's B Grade All-Rounder trophy in 1928-29. He captained the club for over 10 years and played there for a lot longer and during that time he was a club delegate to the Association.
Frank served on the Association Executive for a number of years and was a Vice President between 1930-31 and 1933-34. He also served as a Patron of the Association for a number of years. It is noted in the Association's records that Frank donated 2 batting trophies in the 1930-31 season and provided funds towards premiership pennants on other occasions.
Frank Clota was awarded Life Membership of the Association in 1935-36. Later in life it is thought that Frank took up Bowls and moved to Orbost and then Hawthorn.
