Round 3 of the Ringwood and District Cricket Association was a 1 day fixture played in perfect conditions on Saturday.

In Trollope Shield South Croydon won the toss and batted against Wantirna South.  Losing wickets at regular intervals the Bulldogs managed to compile 182 off their allotted overs.  Ollie Brown (31), Ben Willis (30), Jackson Weatherill (25) and Jack Henderson (23) all contributed, with Travis Clarke (4-38) taking bowling honours. In reply the Devils for the 2nd week running capitulated to the bowling of Jackson Weatherill (3-14) and Jack Henderson (3-18) to be dismissed for a disappointing 104.

In the other 3 games the team winning the toss invited the opposition to bat.

At North Ringwood, Ainslie Park lost wickets consistently throughout their innings to compile 7-174.  Aydn Sier (44) top scored and wickets were shared by the Bull’s bowlers. In reply North Ringwood were put under pressure by a tight Parkers bowling attack led by Jake Tucker (3-20) to be dismissed for 136.  Tom Robinson (43) top scored for the Bulls.

Montrose were always in trouble against East Ringwood after losing 2 quick wickets.  Keiran Perkins (33) helped rescue the situation only to see them collapse to be 8-120 before Cheyne Van Koll (20) and Tyler Sonsini (13no) put on 36 for the 9th wicket to see them finish on 159. This was never enough when East Ringwood chased down the total finishing on 3-164 with 11 overs to spare. Michael Cook (41), Taylor Gibson (43), Matt Stevenson (37no) and Sameet Brar-Singh (27no) all contributed.

Bayswater Park looked like making the job difficult for Lilydale, when their 1st 3 batsmen in David Mitchell (73no), James Court (33) and Marcus Adams (27) took their score to 100 for the loss of 1 wicket. However, as has been the case with the Sharks they lost 5-12 before settling on their final score of 170. Ryan Smith (3-21) did the damage with the ball for Lilydale.  In reply fine knocks by Brenton Pearce (82) and Daniel Thompson (49) enable Lilydale to easily chase the total finishing on 2-174.
